Project "Child innitiative support movement" (Minsk, Minsk Region, 2002),
was implemented in the partnership with Byelorussian Alliance of Child and Youth Non-Governmental Associations "RADA" supported by UNISEF. The project was aimed at working out the algorithm for young people to become involved in the process of taking decisions concerning their activities (a dialogue between the youth and adults, partnership programs, joint actions).

The specific characteristic of the project was to draw young people in socially active work to determine their social status. The following points were priorities of the projects: to promote the ideas of socially active life, to protect child's rights, and to popularize healthy life .

The Center of Co-ordination and Information was established to function on the basis of "Focus Group". The activity of the Center was concentrated on the work with the leaders of juvenile initiatives, that is groups of young people energetically engaged in the process of modifying their social status; such points as personal maturity and self-education, getting the guarantees to keep their rights and interests (independently, supported by a non-governmental organization, at school, or being off-school) are taken into account. The youth leaders were given educational, advisory, and resource support, as well as consultations on general issues.

Regarding the framework of the project, the officials of "Focus Group" held the following set of actions: 4 round-table sessions, 3 discussion meetings, 3 educational seminars, regional child conference "We Make Environment Good For Children to Live". There were published 7 issues of bulletins on general problems concerning child initiatives (Minsk, Minsk region). Besides the City of Minsk, the actions were organized in 12 small towns of Minsk region, for instance, in Zaslavl, Borisov, Smolevichi, Molodechno.

During the period the project was in the process of implementing our organization actively collaborated with the following governmental institutions and NGOs of Minsk region: Educational Establishment "Minsk Region Education and Methods Office", the Center of Juvenile Works "Eureca", non-governmental association "Byelorussian Youth Alliance", and others.

The project was implemented within the framework of the Global Initiative to Support Child's Interests, which was aimed at founding a large-scale movement for those who pledged themselves to guarantee safe and secure environment for children in accordance with UN Convention on Child's Rights.
