Project "internEt-internAt"

of Belarus.
The project is directed towards providing the assistance for the young orphans to become adjusted to the off-boarding school life though their educating in the field of internet technologies. Furthermore, social managers and psychologists should be involved in the process of advancing their computer skills .
The aim of the project is:
- to introduce to and adjust internet related methods to the work purposed to adapt young orphans to off-boarding school life. The work is intended to be carried out by social managers and psychologists of the institutions within the framework of the resources that are available for six boarding school
It is planned to achieve the following targets:
- - to provide tools to get Internet access for the students of the boarding schools (Minsk Region);
- to train social managers and teachers to make them "computer competent " in order to apply internet resources for adapting the orphans to off-boarding school life;

- to initiate and arrange for high-quality training so that students-orphans acquire ITskills
- provide social managers and teachers with resources on methods and academic advice through the assistance of experts as well as developing specialized web-resource and network system;
The innovative character of the project is teaching students-orphans basic Internet knowledge not with the help of maintenance team but social managers and psychologists (supported by the project officials), who can take the most advantage of Internet resources to make orphans socially integrated. Such a scheme extends the sphere of the project influence beyond the limits of technical support to produce systematic positive impact on the integrity of the boarding school structure. Children as well as social managers, psychologists and administration will be trained to benefit from Internet.
This project does not conclude with technical support but it is distinguished by educational character. Equipping the boarding schools to get access to internet should be considered as the starting-point of the project. The way newly gained resources are applied is the primary focus . The support for the work on methods is given particular attention, for methods guarantee the high quality work to accumulate and disseminate the experience obtained. The results of the project are feasible to transform into the formula to introduce the innovations similar to the given one to extend both geographical limits and target groups.
